The main zest of this program is Mertzbakher Lake that disappears at the same time twice per year, streaming down into Inylchek River. The lake is 6 km length and 1km width, actually divided into two parts with the ice bridge. In this way, while the one of them flows down to the river another part is full of water. The lake panorama and other mountains landscapes you will see through the window of helicopter. During the program you will accommodate in tents and also there will be three nights in a base camp. During your stay in the base camp you will have the possibility for radial hiking to the Pobeda and Khan-Tengry Peaks. After trekking along the ice world you will be offered to have a sun bathes and pleasure on the Issyk-Kul Lake shore with its healthy salt waters that are clean like a mountain crystal…
Destination: Bishkek – Jety-Oguz – Karakol – At-Jailoo base camp– Inylchek glacier – Putevodniy glacier – Mertzbaher lake – South Inylchek base camp — Pobeda peak – Khan-Tengry peak — Karkara – Issyk-Kul lake — Bishkek
Day 1: Transfer Bishkek — Jety – Oguz (360km – 8 hrs) along the South shore of Issyk-Kul. Lunch on the way. Late arrival to Jety-Oguz (2360m.a.s.l.), dinner, accommodation in the Yurt Camp.
Day 2: All day in Jety-Oguz. Acclimatization hiking to Oguz-Bashi (about 5 hrs).
Day 3: Breakfast. Transfer to Karakol. Sightseeing in Karakol: the Holy Trinity Cathedral, the Dungan Mosque. Lunch in a local café. Dinner and accommodation in the guest house
Day 4: Transfer to At-Jailoo base camp (180km – 6 hrs). Light hiking there. Dinner and overnight in base camp. (2600m.a.s.l.)
Day 5: Trekking from At-Jailoo along Inylchek river to the beginning of Inylchek glacier (20 km, 8 hrs). Overnight in tents. (2900m.a.s.l.)
Day 6: Trekking Inylchek glacier – Putevodniy glacier (15 km, 6-8 hrs). Overnight in tents. (3100m.a.s.l.)
Day 7: Trekking Putevodniy glacier — Mertzbakher Glade (15 km, 6-8 hrs). Overnight in tents. (3300m.a.s.l.)
Day 8: Helicopter flight Mertzbakher Lake – South Inylchek base camp. Overnight in BC in tents. (4000m.a.s.l.)
