Kyrgyz visa regulations

Since the 27th of July the law of “Free visa regime for citizens of several countries for the time period
limit of 60 days” was joined into force.This law was signed by president of Kyrgyz Republic – Mr. Almazbek Atambaev on the 24th of July 2012, and appreciated to facilitate visa application procedures and increasing tourism development in Kyrgyzstan at the same time making this country more attractive for investment bringing.The low is supposed for 44 countries, among which there are 29 members of total 34 countries that are members of Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), with the exception of: Turkey (with which Kyrgyzstan has an agreement about mutual free visa regime for the time period of 30 days), Japan (for which citizens there is an agreement during the current ten years already), and also Mexico, Chilly and Israel.So there are 44 countries of 67 listed in the law of “Easier visa regime” of 07.02.2009 № 87 with following add-ins of years 2010 and 2011. The law was implemented in one-side way and suggested to work till the 31st of December 2020.

 

The whole list of 44 countries allowed for free visa regime into Kyrgyzstan includes:

Regarding the resolution of government of Kyrgyz Republic from 12.07.2012 №125 it was declared easier regime of Kyrgyz Republic visa applications for the citizens of following countries:

1. The Principality of Andorra 2. The Argentine Republic          3. The Federative Republic of Brazil   4. Vatican City State

5. The Socialist Republic of Vietnam 6. The Kingdom of Thailand 7. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia                 8. The United Mexican States

9. The United Arab Emirates             10. The Republic of San-Marino 11. The Republic of the Philippines

At the same time, regarding the governmental resolution from 25.07.2011 under #405 “About additions in resolution of government of Kyrgyz republic from 7th February 2009 under the # 87 “About implementation of foreign countries list, whish citizens have easier visa regime in Kyrgyzstan” it was declared easier visa regime for getting entrance – exit visa of Kyrgyz Republic for citizens of following foreign countries:

1. The Republic of Albania 2. Brunei – Darussalam               3. The Republic of Indonesia

4. The South African Republic 5. The Republic of Chili 6. The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela      7. The Government of Quatar

8. The Government of Quwait          9. The Sultanate of Oman 10. The Kingdom of Bahrain

It is well possible to obtain Kyrgyz visas in Kyrgyz embassies abroad. For this procedure it is usually needed:

•    A letter of application
•    An application form
•    A passport photograph
•    The passport with at least one blank page – some visa agencies in America state that it must be valid for six months after the date of the intended visit – but we cannot find this stipulated anywhere
•    The fee

In some cases it may be necessary to provide an official invitation from a person or organization in Kyrgyzstan, visa support from the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and possibly visa support from the Ministry of the Interior.

 

Visa support
It is necessary to obtain visa support from the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Bishkek (in the form of a telex message to the appropriate embassy/consulate).
The process normally takes one week, although it may be possible to apply for “express” service by paying an additional fee. We recommend that you allow ten to fifteen days, however, to allow for holidays and communication.

Visa support from the Ministry of Foreign affairs is needed for:

 

It is necessary to obtain visa support from the consular department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 

Bishkek (in the form of a telex message to the appropriate embassy/consulate).

The process normally takes one week, although it may be possible to apply for “express” service by paying an additional fee. We recommend that you allow ten to fifteen days, however, to allow for holidays and communication. 

Visa support from the Ministry of Foreign affairs is needed for: 

• those with “private, business or other purposes”, (this refers to the Ordinary visa – not to Tourist visas)
• for multiple entry visas
• visas valid for more than one month
• for citizens of certain countries (even though, generally, the Kyrgyz Republic enjoys good diplomatic relations with these countries, special procedures are applied and the process takes two weeks instead of the usual one week.) These countries include:

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Iran, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, China, Hong-Kong and Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates
