Duration: 24 days – 23 nights
Destination: Bishkek — Tash-Rabat – Torugart border – Kashgar – Subash village — Takla Makan Desert — Subash village – Muztagh-Ata – Kashgar — Torugart border – Naryn — Bishkek
Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek, meeting with guide in the airport. Accommodation in the guest house.
AM: Late Breakfast. Transfer to Tash-Rabat. Before departure we will visit the office of “Edelweiss” Travel
Company to discuss all details of the program and make the payment.
PM: Lunch on the way.
Night and dinner in Yurt camp on Tash-Rabat.
Day 2:
AM: Early breakfast. Transfer to Torugart border. Lunch box before crossing border. Meeting with Chinese partner on the border around 12 o’clock.
PM: You will be met at the Torugart Pass and then transferred further until arriving at the Chinese Customs. It takes about one hour to complete all the Custom Checking and then continue your way until you arrive in Kashgar. Check in the Seman Hotel (3 stars). Please note: groups are not allowed to have any stop on the way from the border to the Customs on this day because this area is the military prohibited area. Off the customs, the road is quite well until Kashgar. The entire way from the border to Kashgar takes about 7 hours. The distance of the day is about 180 km and the road condition is OK for bus driving.
Day 3: Kashgar – Subash Village, 200km. Going along the famous Silk Road onto the shores of Karakul Lake, we discover the desert plains announcing Takla Makan Desert.
Overnight in tents;
Day 04: Subash Village — Base Camp. With the help of camels to transport the material you will walk to BC at 4350 meters. Overnight in tents.
Day 05/18: 14 days are available to climb Muztagh-Ata.
Ascending point by point in accordance with the time for acclimatization. The last step each to carry the material. Some rest can be spent for descent of three thousand meters. Setting of camps required in altitude to reach the location of the last camp at 6400 m.
Nights in tents and meal at base camp at food restaurants
Day 19: Pack up your climbing camps which set up on the high altitude.
Return to your Base Camp. Over night at Base Camp;
Day 20: Do your last reorganization before leaving in the morning. Trek down with camels, meet your vehicle crew again and further moving until arriving at Kashgar. Over night at the Seman Hotel;
Day 21: Have a rest day in Kashgar. It is a good chance to do your reorganization before leaving.
Day 22: AM: Normally it takes you about 1 hour to get through the customs. Then further driving to the border takes you another 3 hours. The road condition from Kashgar to the customs is highway but from the customs to the border the road is sand and it is good enough for bus to drive on. The flood season in this area normally is August. The main road sometimes is washed through by flood. We normally prepare box lunch for clients who are going to exit from this pass. The altitude at the border is about 3600 meters above sea level.
PM: Meeting the Kyrgyz guide at the Torugart border. Transfer to the town of Naryn. Its population is about 40000 people. It is situated on the both sides of Naryn River. Length of the river is about 616 km. It has 6 hydropower stations. Dinner and overnight in English Guest House in Naryn. Naryn is the Alpine city (altitude 2037 m. above the sea level). Naryn town is located on the biggest river of Kyrgyzstan
Day 23: AM: Breakfast. Transfer to Bishkek through the Bohom canyon – 22 km long, the lower part of which is a narrow canyon passing through rocky cliffs, 112 km off Bishkek, it forms a natural gateway to Issyk-Kul Lake, to the Central and Inner Tien-Shan. The origin of the Bohom Canyon is one of the most interesting geographical mysteries of the Tien-Shan.
PM: Lunch in the Kyrgyz Family in Tokmok.
Arriving in the capital, sightseeing walk around the city, visiting a souvenir shop, dinner at the local restaurant, accommodation in the guest house.
Day 24: AM: Early morning transfer to airport for flight home.
